VIEWS OF THE WORLD FESTIVAL / FESTIVAL VUES DU MONDE : WELCOME TO THE ITALIAN COMPOSER, UMBERTO SCIPIONE

Umberto Scipione is a Composer, Orchestra conductor, pianist, clarinetist, orchestrator and musical arranger. He is also a professor at the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” of Rome, and a soundtrack composer for films, fictions, short films, radio plays and advertising.

His soundtrack for the Musical “Il Principe Abusivo” by Alessandro Siani has been nominated at the “David di Donatello” 2014 for the soundtrack of the film by Carlo Verdone “Sotto una Buona Stella”. Double nomination for the 2012 David di Donatello for Best Soundtrack and Best Original Song written for the blockbuster film 2012 “Welcome to the North”. Nominated at the “David di Donatello” 2011 for the soundtrack of the blockbuster film 2010 “Welcome to the South”. Panelist “David di Donatello” and the jury of the “European Film Academy”.

For Rai, (Italian National Television), he has created the soundtracks of some two hundred dramas, documentaries and jingles for television broadcasts.
